Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Ritman University (RU) Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2021/2022 academic session.

This one-year program leads to the award of certificate by JUPEB which qualifies candidates for Direct Entry Admissions into 200 Level of degree courses offered by Ritman University (RU) and other universities in Nigeria and abroad.

History Of Ritman University (RU)

Ritman University (RU) is located in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Ritman University, RU is a privately owned and managed university in Nigeria. Ritman University offers various undergraduate courses/programs. The National University Commission (NUC) granted an operational license to Ritman University on March 5th, 2015, the university began academic activities on November 23rd, 2015. Ritman University was founded by Emmanuel Ibok Essien, a former Senator who represented the North West Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State at the 4th Nigerian National Assembly (Senate) between (1999-2003). Senator Essien established the university according to him as “a response to the yearning of renascent Africans for an entrepreneurial university that develops the mind for total productivity, inculcate positive values and offers resources for navigating the world with ease”. Ritman University has an estimated student population of about 1,000 students spread across its three (3) faculties.

Ritman University courses are fully accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC), a body overseeing all tertiary institutions (Universities) in Nigeria.

The National Universities Commission’s accreditation of all academic programs currently offered here and granting of a full license to operate in less than four years of our existence affirms RU’s total commitment to offering quality scholarship driven by amply qualified intellectuals and adequate learning infrastructure. The Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien-led Ritman Group of Companies – a conglomerate with interests in Agriculture, Civil & Electrical Engineering, Hospitality, Information/Communication Technology, Printing, Furniture-making, and Education – which began operation on 30 March 1987 regards kick-off of RU on November 23, 2015, like the Zenith of her educational establishments, after several years of planning. Ritman University is located about a kilometer from Ikot Ekpene city center. It sits on 104.2 acres of a lush, serene tropical environment with a clean and green ambiance ideal for serious academic work. The campus in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State lies between Aba and Umuahia (in the Abia State of Nigeria) and Uyo, the capital. It is easily accessible from Calabar, Eket, Uyo, Port Harcourt Aba, and Umuahia.

JUPEB Basic Studies (JBS) Programme

Students who have not written JAMB’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination or who did not score up to 140 as required by JAMB have an opportunity to be admitted into Ritman University through the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) program.

This one-year program leads to the award of certificate by JUPEB which qualifies candidates for Direct Entry Admissions into 200
Level of degree courses offered by Ritman University and other universities in Nigeria and abroad.

 

JBS ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Five (5) Credits in WAEC/NECO at not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics.

JBS FEES

N160,000 for Sciences
N150,000 for others

(Excluding accommodation and feeding).
