Description
This scholarship is given to full-time overseas students (F1 visa holders) who are pursuing a degree and have a solid academic record and financial need. Scholarships are given as partial tuition exemptions for out-of-state students (reduction in tuition). Only international students with an F1 visa who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees will be eligible for the scholarship (does not apply to HSU Study California tuition).

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must;
- be an incoming or current international students at HSU
- achieve grade C or higher or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
- Duolingo – 105
- EIKEN – 3400
- ELS – 112
- IELTS – 6.5
- ITEP – 4.5
- PTE – 53
- TOEFL IBT – 80
- TOEFL PBT – 550
- TOEFL CBT –213
How to apply for Humboldt State Scholarship
Applicants need to apply to CAS via the university portal. To apply for the opportunity , the applicants need to fill the application form and submit it to international@humboldt.edu along with 2 letters of recommendation and a personal essay. Follow the steps below.
- Complete the Scholarship Application.
- Prepare an essay addressing qualifications for the award (academic performance and financial need)
- Submit a minimum of two recommendation letters.
- Upload your application materials online with your application, or email them to the Center for International Programs (CIP) (international@humboldt.edu).
Federal Financial Aid
Humboldt State University does not provide Federal financial aid for international students. Only students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible for Federal financial aid. As scholarship opportunities are limited, international students are encouraged to explore scholarships, loans and sponsorship possibilities within their home countries.
