Summer Stay International Scholarships is a $2,500 educational fund that would cover full tuition and fees for a resident student and offer a sizeable decrease in the total cost for non-resident or international students who are willing to pursue a degree program at Purdue University, USA .

Prior to applying for Summer Stay Scholars, please review the following information to help you better understand the scholarship requirements.

How does Summer Stay International Scholarships works?

If you are selected for Summer Stay Scholars, you will receive up to $2,500 to pay your estimated summer cost of attendance not already covered by other gift aid. A $2,500 scholarship will cover full tuition for resident students and offers a sizeable decrease in total cost for non-resident/international students.

As a Summer Stay Scholar you will take at least 9 credit hours and work at least 140 hours conducting faculty-led research or participating in an on-campus internship during Summer 2022.

Who qualifies?

To qualify for Summer Stay Scholars, you must have:

  • Attended your first semester at a Purdue University campus in Fall 2021 or earlier
  • A GPA of at least 3.00 for research or at least 2.00 for internships
  • Undergraduate student status
  • Complete 9+ credit hours during Summer 2022


The 2022 Summer Stay application will open on December 6, 2021.

Eligibility: To be eligible, you must:

  • have undergraduate student status.
  • have attended their first semester at a Purdue University campus in the spring semester of this academic year or earlier.

    Please note, in general, international undergraduate students are not eligible for financial aid and scholarships.

  • Submit the Supplemental Scholarship Application by Dec. 15

    Students can submit the supplemental scholarship application by using the Purdue application portalSome Purdue colleges use this application to identify recipients for awards with very specific criteria. Colleges include Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, and the Polytechnic Institute.
