How to read and Pass the Literature-in-English texts
It is one thing to have all these books and it is another thing to read it and pass. I will show you some tricks which you need to adopt towards these books to enable you read them quickly and pass them very well in your WAEC.
Read one book from each category first
One perfect method to read these books is to first read one book from each of the categories. For instance, you have to read 1 African prose, 1 non African prose, 1 African drama, 1 non African drama, 1 African poetry, 1 non African poetry.
Once you have it in this manner, you will be sure that any side it comes out, you will at least, have something to offer.
Read the short and easy ones
Try to go for the ones which are little in volume and easier for you to understand. No need wasting your time in reading big books especially when the time is no longer on your side. You need to act as fast as possible.
Go for summaries
Each of the WAEC books has its own summaries. There are many quality summary books out there in the market and you can get one. The particular summary book I recommend is “Exam Focus” textbook.
I recommend this book because it has the most likely questions and answers. During my WAEC days, I read this book and studied some questions in there. Guess what? Exactly one of the essay questions there appeared during my examination and it was very easy for me to tackle.
In fact, I did not read some of the books but I read the summary in the book and I felt like I also read the book. It is a bit costly. You can grab a copy of exam focus textbook for 3,500 – 4,000 naira. You can also buy it online using your credit card.
There are other literature summary books such a essential literature textbook. You can check them out there in the market in any bookshop.
