MTN Scholarships under the Youth Development Cause, is an annual award that seeks to recognize and reward qualified high performing students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions.

How much does MTN pay to scholarship winners?

MTN Scholarship pays N200,000 every year to each winner.

When will the MTN scholarship application 2022 start?

The application period for the MTN 2022 Scholarship would commence in August 2022 and end on December 31, 2022.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship, which covers tuition, book allowance, and stipends, is offered to a maximum of 500 qualified and successful full-time Nigerian students pursuing science and technology-related courses at accredited institutions.

Existing recipients who maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or its equivalent (second class upper/upper credit) will be eligible to extend their scholarship every year until they complete their studies.

MTN Scholarships Eligibility/Requirements

The students must be in their third year at the time of application, i.e they must have resumed 300Level now or are about to resume 300L.

  1. Applicants from public Universities and Colleges of Education in Nigeria must be full-time undergraduates in 300 level/3rd year.
  2. Applicants from public Universities and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.5 or its equivalent (2:1)
  3. Applicants from public Polytechnics must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma program (HND).
  4. Direct entry-level students must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a public University.
  5. Applicants must be able to demonstrate English Language proficiency

The information provided by applicants will be checked, and candidates who have been shortlisted will be invited to participate in an assessment test. They will be asked to bring two recent passport photographs as well as the original and a photocopy of the following documents to their appointment:

  • A genuine student identification card
  • Any other form of identification (national identification card, international passport, driver’s license, etc.) is acceptable.
  • Admission letter from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and the institution of study.
  • Admission letter for the HND programs is available here (For Polytechnic students only).

  • Visit MTN Scholarship portal @ foundation.mtnonline.com
  • Enter your first name, middle name and surname
  • Enter your date of birth and other personal information
  • Enter your email, phone number, exam location in the next page
  • Upload your passport (Max file size 4MB, allowed files .jpg, .png)
  • Enter your UTME information
  • Fill other information and upload the necessary documents.
  • Check your email for a confirmation
  • Done
