Kano state scholarship Scheme is exclusively intended for Kano State indigents whose parents are of Kano State origin or whose father is of Kano State origin who obtain admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

As long as you are an indegene of Kano State and you have gotten admission in to any institution (University, Polytechnics, College of Education or any other tertiary institution) you are qualified for this award.

In some cases winners travel abroad to study without regard to their age, provided that they meet the stipulated requirements and are not employed by the government or non-governmental organizations.

Without limiting the foregoing, the Board may, in its sole discretion, award awards to applicants who have been lawfully certified.

Awarded status, on the other hand, is neither a right nor an automatic right, but rather a privilege because the Board reserves the power to amend or rescind an award when it is deemed necessary.

When determining whether or not to award the Scholarship Award, the income of the applicant or the income of his or her parent(s) will be taken into consideration in the decision-making process. However, due to a lack of available cash, grants must be restricted as a matter of necessity.

Award and Remittance for Overseas Courses

Everything about applying for and receiving Kano State Scholarships is the same whether you live in Nigeria or abroad, with the exception of a few exceptions, such as payment of allowance and fees and processes for extending or approving an award once it has been approved in writing.

During this process, the Board will choose and submit a formal recommendation of properly qualified applicants for abroad training to His Excellency the Governor of Kano State, via the Hon. Commissioner for Higher Education, for his approval.

All award recipients who are studying in a foreign country are listed on a single (1) Payment Voucher that must be paid to a prescribed agent of the Nigerian Embassy or Nigeria High Commission (or General Consulate of Nigeria, as the case may be) in that country before the funds can be transferred to the students and educational institutions concerned in Nigeria.

An agent is typically the Education Attaché of a Nigerian Embassy or an agency, such as the Nigeria High Commission, or other connected organization in the case of New Students who have not yet arrived in the place of study and are in the process of obtaining a visa. According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) guideline, a transfer of Living Expenses and Tuition Fees should be sent directly into the Student Personal Account and the Institution’s Account, respectively, for Continuing Students.

All applications for Extension Overseas must be routed through the institutions of study to the Nigerian Embassy in the nation in question for endorsement before being forwarded to the Board of Studies, which will then submit all of the necessary academic documentation.
